My Tiger Tank Project

I have gained great pleasure not only at the skill you have displayed but your determination to ensure your Tiger 1 early really was as accurate as it is possible for a Tiger 1 early to be,
My first early included a Starting Handle mounted within two brackets along the bottom of the rear panel, it swung within the brackets and looked really good (as well as accurate) all was well until the Tank was driven across the lawn.
One badly bent starting handle later I fitted a non standard bracket between the base of the exhaust shroud and just above the tow hook.
It no longer swings but at least it is present.
The moral of the story is if its RC then some accuracy will have to be sacrificed,
Only shelf queens can be close to scale perfection but that is a different Forum

The Tiger 1 early had a regular one piece starting handle (The moulded Taigen part should be removed and replaced by the proper handle)it was held in place immediately above the base of the rear panel by two clamps with the starting handle grip swinging freely beneath the tow hook, sometimes it was retained by a removable chain attached to the grip,
The starting handle on the Tiger 1 Late was in two parts and was clamped to the body adjacent to the radio aerial.

Impressive handiwork there, Jimster. You know that you're making real headway, when your pics warrant double-takes. The rear panel of your Tiger is really beginning to resemble the genuine item; and hence (at least in my case) the double-take.
The Jarndice seal of approval also confirms that you're now in the graduate school of modelling.

All the recent Tiger talk inspired me to fiddle with my initial production Tiger 1 project.
The spare antenna tube on the right rear needed to be turned around to be correct and it needed to stick out past the rear by several inches. I did this by cutting off the end cap from the front and glueing it to the rear. Perfect solution and with body putty and sanding it’s hard to tell.
Another thing that needed attention was the rear early style convoy light. I got glue on the green lenses during the initial assembly which made the light way too dim. I want to be able to see it so today I popped the cover off and replaced the lenses with excellent results.

Spent some time on the old Tiger last night. I finally got around to assembling the Aber smoke discharger kit. Love the detail it added to the overall look. I also replaced my Mato metal commander’s hatch. I once thought that metal detail parts are always better but after I broke a hinge on it I realized that the original Taigen plastic hatch was much more detailed. So I painted and weathered it and mounted it on last night. Thanks for checking in.

Very nice work. Appreciate your meticulous attention to detail. It shows. If I didn't know better, I'd have said that was a picture of a real cupola. Ibid for the smoke dischargers.
