EDIT:
Just found out, this is modelled around a G/H model, not J. Something to do with the rear upper track idelrs. Apparently they only ran 3 on the J, but 4 on the H.

Could it also be insignia for a Command Tank with K06?

The smoker is standard and noisy. So i want to upgrade the smoker to be more silent and also more smoke.

The sound volume is not quite as loud as i would like! Is there anyway to make louder? Wondering if there are cheap mini amplifiers which could be spliced inline.

Wondering if i should convert to 2S lipo to replace the original nicad. Any ideas?

Other than that it seems to run well, but the range is limited with internal ariel on 27mhz. Is it worth putting an aeriel on it, which would look correct and then also help with the receiver getting a signal.

Hi, If you are thinking of fitting an aerial on your PZ4 Aus J then you surely know that it was mounted on the Rear Left Flank.
http://www.hagen-miniatures.de
have a very nice mount for an aerial amongst other wonders on their site,
Well worth a visit.
I am halfway through a PZ4 Aus H and Hagens has been a valuable source for much of the updates.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

I've done this mod on several of my smokers. It really boosts the smoke output, and is pretty cheap, as well.

Thanks guys.
I have bought another new HL snoke unit and will modify the existing one. But i am thinking the J model Panzer IV had deployable smoke grenades.
However i cannot work out where they were situated as cannot find pictures of a J model to refer.
I am wondering if i can actually run twin smokes and have an extra channel to fire smoke for the grenades! but i will need to work a way to make thicker smoke than the exhausts, so maybe play with baby oil in the tank for that.
Definitely going to need lipo power now!

Anyone got any good links and recommendations for a 2s Lipo which runs well in these tanks?

It doesn’t seem to drive like my full option Taigen Tiger 1, it’s not as proportional it seems.

Partly driver, but I think the motors could do with higher torque rating. Red can units maybe?

They look like the original Pot Metal gearboxes so I would not expect too much from them, :'(
I am in the process of changing a very old Heng Long PZ4 Aus F into an AuS H using a spare ASP 2 control board and it still has the same gearboxes as your PZ4,
It depends on the depths of my pocket whether I change them or not. :haha:
