Pantiger to Panther A
I have decided to use the Pantiger’s turret it may not be to scale but I think it looks ok for the Ausf A and for me. Other parts used have been the turret ring, grills, head light mount and driver/radio operators hatches.
The upper deck and hull are Heng Long Panther G, the electrics will be swapped over from the pantigers hull.
This is how it looked at the start and now.
The way ahead has been and guided by Estniche’s Panther conversion method and the time available after operation and illness.
Also wanted to tackle this as the A was the most widely built model of the war and I think the best looking.
More updates further along the build.

Not so fast young man! Where are the cut fingers, plastic dust and curses? Show us the surgery!
P.S. I found a cheap working driver's visor if you are interested?

This is a most interesting build. Always find these most common (uncommon Rc versions) very cool.
Tanks alot....

Estnische, there’s been plenty of plastic dust and hoping this goes ok going on. I haven’t made the deck hatches opening but the opening vision slot maybe a good addition.Estnische wrote:Not so fast young man! Where are the cut fingers, plastic dust and curses? Show us the surgery!

Plenty more filling and sanding to go but I might give it a over spray of grey to help with high and low points.
Let me now were I can get the drivers vision hatch from and I’ll have a look.
Re: Pantiger to Panther A
Cheers everyone for watching this is going to take awhile. Other parts to add metal barrel, semi circle lifting points on turret roof and the grenade launcher opening on the right rear corner of turret. When I finally get up to a running chassis then some metal tracks.
Not sure whether to try diy zimmerite or buy the pack for the G model.
Cheers for the positive responses.

Re: Pantiger to Panther A
Now them right there are nice A & D parts.
My only issue is I have a crap rapport with Asiatam....................(remember that night fighting equipment Mr Painless)
I will be into a cupola like a robbers dog, I cant make one for that, the rear deck I have a pantiger donor for, and the rest I will make.
Thanks for the link mate, we can all get a lot from that, even if its just a visual comparison.

Re: Pantiger to Panther A
Good morning,
I am glad to see these conversions underway. There are a ton of 'G's around, all beautifully done. To see the earlier Panthers given such attention to detail is a huge plus! I do indeed, Mr. Herman. *chuckles* Anything I order from Germany takes a lot of thought before hand, especially if it will cross the path of DHL over there.
regards and following along,
Painless
