Hi Guys
Rather than running two separate builds for our newly acquired project Henglong Tigers, i thought i would just run one post.
Very Early Henglong Tiger 27mhz basic model which someone has put a little work into to make look a little weathered etc & a later Henglong Tiger which is a complete basket case requiring total resto, but i am going to continue the previous owners idea to convert to a late model Tiger.
The late model as had Zimmerit & some nice metal features purchased like hatches, cupola, tools and other stuff etc like metal gearboxes.
This will be mine, so the upper & lower hull will be strengthened but remain plastic HL. Going to convert this to.mid Tiger 334 I think
The running wheels and tracks etc will all be metal. Need some ideas, but seen long sticky threads which i can copy for inspiration.
Colour wise this will go full camouflage and i might try to use an airbrush for the first time!!!!
Is there a way to get late model wheels for a HL chassis?
I intend to fit smoke launchers & try and get a thick smoke system for these, but also run a smoke system for exhausts.
I do not intend to use any Std HL electronics here so i am going to get it all working off std 2.4ghz Flight controller and Rx. Tlk e out of it, if not wise
Unfortunately i got a few minutes out of the working Early model before the driveshafts plastic gear started to slip. Basically the gear has split meaning the spline cannot transfer drive.
A short temp fix is glue with epoxy, but now getting metal box on order. Tracks will stay nylon however, this is a cheap running model for my wife to use.
I have noticed the suspension arms are very fragile, so i may also purchase a metal set and fit some hull reinforcements also.
For both it would be nice to have sound, but that can wait.
I have alot of projects, so don't hold your breath i work slowly haha, some pictures to start
