Where both tracks plastic or metal Max?.... I don't really see a difference in the performance... it actually looks like the Tamiya slip more...and have more track slack
I have the Heng Long Metal tracks on mine...came perfectly tensioned... and runs perfectly without any hitches....in fact sometimes they are too good lol

Stock HL tracks would not grip all the way on the sprockets that came With the metal lower hull. So I bought some tamiya Kv tracks and bada bing ;) Plastick both of them

Max,
That's correct. HL tracks will not work very well with the Asiatam lower hulls and sprockets. The Tamiya tracks will.

Ah... Ok... must have been a bad batch...mine ride perfectly...and boy do they grip 8O ....ran over my toes for the heck of it... OUCH!

One of the best weathered KV's that I have ever seen. A 'Beauty' in all respects. ;o) The rust and scale debris are amazing!
