First big build! Heng Long tiger 1

Post by Ferny »

Hi all

Have just started my first Tiger so far I have done the following:
Stripped the hull
Flipped the mantlet over
Lengthened the gun
Removed both antenna tubes (will scratch build a replacement)
Added some milliput welds
And opened up the drivers vision block as seen bellow.

So far so good!

Cheers

I will be keeping a watch on this one for techniques. i have a 'white Tiger' to do very soon & its already starting to concern me as to the details required to do the subject picture justice.
Now youve done the drivers vision block, dont forget to leave sufficient space for a Thompson SMG barrel to stick clean through it & allow the driver to be taken out ( a-la 'Shaving Ryans Privates style')

Well done a bit more over the last few evenings here's where I'm at

Have now totally stripped the hull and knocked up a jack mount:

I have also modified the top of the hull to make it easier to remove have cut the base of the turret son it can still come apart once the zimmert as been applied.

Thanks for looking.

Right as I made a complete has of removing the hatches and tools from the top deck I decided to scratch build one from 80 thou sheet, whilst I was at it I corrected the turret center point. All done with compass cutter and a lot of patience!
