A little more. I spent the last couple of evenings working on the turret storage bin. The after market storage bin apart from being too wide, long and having some random radius on the back was accurate.

I ended up using a belt sander to gradually correct the shape at the back of the storage bin until it matched the rear of the turret. The rest was shaped using a sanding block and scalpel. Its not quite the right shape but closer than before.

The rest of the work was done with plasticard, plastic rod and fuse wire.

Lovely build and helpful pictures,
The Tank Commanders Cupola Bore sight is one of the few details missing from Tamiyas PZ4 BUT it is included in the detail that Taigens revised Turret displays,
The downsides to the new turret is that the Cupola is no longer removable so upgrading to an H or J variant with the one piece hatch is no longer a simple swap and unfortunately Taigens addition of the accurate (Unlike Heng Longs) Radio Aerial Deflector will have to be removed if the Tank is being upgraded to an H or J variant.
Watching this build with great interest.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Hi! A little more. The bore sight was made from tin from a tobacco tin, other tins are available. Grab handles replaced with brass rod.

This is my go to book for most of the details I'm making. Highly recommended reading. It has scale drawings of the tank in 1/35 and individual drawings of fixtures and fittings in 1/10. An online scale converter fixes this.

The lifting hooks provided are interesting.

Remade the hooks from plasticard. The cone shaped fixings are made from sprue using a sanding block. The tip is then removed for the part.(Drawings from Panzer Tracks #3-3). All the parts are labelled with their German name. Nice touch.

Always admired your ability to engineer small detailed parts Ska. Where did the replacement PanzerIII bin come from ? Is it Tamiya ?
Yesterday is our history, Tomorrow is an eternal mistery, Today is a gift, its why its called "The Present".
