1/35th Vintage R/C Centurion AVRE-165 kit bash

I like these little ones, they're easier to hide from my better half! Image

Was lucky to find this on eBay for a reasonable price and will be adding some working suspension (with a bit of luck) and using this great resource to base it off.

The brass pinions and 6v motors have arrived, so here's a quick video of them running.

Been concentrating on the turret as there are quite a lot of bits that need moving and making.

Had a delivery from China that was really useful for making the pulleys from a bit of 5mm dowel rod.

Going to try fabricating the mantlet from the kit original and some wood filler as it's easy to use...

Modified the mantlet with wood filler and plastic putty to get the desired shape, then used some brass tubing, random plastic spacers, heat shrink with one of my daughter's old pens to create the barrel.

Just stuck on with Blu-Tack at the moment, but pretty happy with the result as it's all guesstimated by eye...

Rear given a bit of extra scrap Styrene and details.

Need to work out how to make the engine grills next as the slats are at an angle rather than straight. Too small to make individually so may need to be a best effort...

Now with working suspension!

The AFV Club plastic is like cheese and rather horrid to work with. Have used brass tubing and M2 screws for the axles with copious amounts of super glue...
