Cheers mate, but I can say that if this was a brand new kit at close to a grand(down here that is) I think I would think of another way.c.rainford73 wrote:Herman you never disappoint. I'm not brave enough to try the screwdriver trick yet, but the results are outstanding
After doing this to F05, ole King Tiger is easy apart from the rolled surface of the turret.
Even the round Tiger 1 turret took the texture easier............I assume the difference in plastic.
The numbers are going to be a nightmare

That's why I'm going to try it on a second hand/used spare Porsche KT hull and turret I got my hands on.c.rainford73 wrote:Herman you never disappoint. I'm not brave enough to try the screwdriver trick yet, but the results are outstanding
Herman does make it look easier than I'm guessing it is
That's why I think I'll only try this once, maybe twice at the most. I've got a second hand Tiger 1 as wellHERMAN BIX wrote:The numbers are going to be a nightmare

Ha!!, pretty close mate. The heat transfer is fairly aggressive by the time I complete a side/section I can tell ya.
I've got a blade shaped burn profile on my thigh from dropping the thing too
Blade tip is 6.5mm wide X 1mm thick.
That works out to approx 4 inches X 5/8 inch in full scale, so pretty close to what Ive seen on real tanks.
Of course that also depends on how deep you go with the blade each time.
As it cools, you need to leave it in place longer, or, keep heating it & do smaller areas...........
Again, the alluring aroma of self-etching primer wafts arousing'ly through the house
