Began on the turret.
Took the barrel to work & used a wire buff wheel on the bench grinder to remove the enamel paint.
Looks like its just been posted now !
Placed unused plastic spare track links on the side of the turret & used a pencil to mark the position of the hangers.
Once marked, drilled into the structure and enlarged the holes.
Fitted each H/L track hanger in its spot, testing each time. Used high impact super glue Gel .
Got the front ones done, now to do the turret rear.
Thie tank is going to be marked 2(balkenkreuz)11 so good to have the space.
Im sure that doing the turret marking over zimmerit will be a treat :/
The H/L hangers allow enough off-set for the tracks to cope with the extra thickness of the zimmerit yet to be applied.
Minor details like front hatch handles and flame cuts also done.
Plenty of welds to do though !!

Going to use the melt method mate. It works for me and I’ve had a bit of practice doing it !

Do yourself a favor and invest in bottles of Micro Sol and Micro Set. It makes putting decals over uneven surfaces very easy.

Will certainly factor those into a method decision.
Not sure yet if I will use decals or paint for the markings.
Turret track links in the morning and reinstate the turret electronics tomorrow night.
I have a couple of hl elevation unit’s out of a treasure pile that I may try to use in place of the jiggly Tamiya system.
I just can’t do barrel wobble.

Paint them! Seeing the same numbers repeated again and again and again makes me cry. Specially then is a nice model.

I love to have my own numbers in my tanks, with real meaning for me.

I'm having to take this route on my super perishing, tamiya elevation just isn't cutting it
