Thank you for the explanation Mick they don't list the rpm on the 12v units that I've seen but all the 6v units are 280 rpm which I already have, if I could find one with higher rpm that would be ideal
Cheers, Lee.

Re: Wpl motor unit
Just a quick thank you to all who took the time to reply with help and advice, I've now uprated the esc and added a 3s lipo and it's given it the slight boost that it badly needed, still chugs along nicely but has a turn of speed when asked for
Cheers, Lee.

Re: Wpl motor unit
No its a 3-4s 320A esc apparently. still from China, its way over engineered however for the light trucks and never get hot. so it may not be capable of real 320a but obviously way over rated compared those cheap 10 or 20a things. Its quite big though https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320A-2-4S-Li ... SwawZbX7-Ijimbo_wa wrote:M.A.B.S.

Re: Wpl motor unit
Exactly what I do with my 4s battery packs. 2x small 2s Lipo in series. POWEREastern Front wrote:You do not need and ESC per se'. Since we are dealing with DC voltage you can just run your batteries in series thus creating 12V from the 6 volt batteries. How do you think they make the battery packs in the various voltages?
DC theory:
using two or more similar voltage sources, To increase the voltage, the batteries should be connected in series.
To increase the run time without increasing the voltage connect the batteries in parallel.
Cheers!
Still need esc to connect into rx for proportional throttle control though

Re: Wpl motor unit
Many times there is no space for 2 batteries, hence the step up voltage regulator.Eastern Front wrote:I am sorry, I mis spoke, I meant to say you don't need a step up board to alter the voltage.. You are right though, you do need an esc to control the motor speeds otherwise the motors would run flat out until the power is all gone.. I guess it would be a wild ride
Cheers!
