WPL Truck Models and parts

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

WPL Truck Models and parts

Post by Mishka »

Compiling this as I think it might be useful for people

WPL part numbers are changing rapidly it seems though (WPLXXXX) and from a Youtube video I saw they are "soon" bringing out a sound unit.

Trucks (B Series)
B-1 (4x4)
B-16 (6x6, US M35)
"B-20" (6x6, Ural 4320, often found just as "WPL Soviet" but never mentioned in metal upgrade set parts but looks like it is a WPL due to the axles in the pics)
B-24 (4x4, GAZ 66)
B-36 (6x6, Ural often shows up as WPL URAL when searching not as B36)
??? (8x8, N/A truck type but mentioned in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lrzkW8mtSk Video around 10:35)

Cars (C Series)
C14 (4x4 no bed pickup truck)
C24 (4x4 pickup truck)

E Series
No Information other than a new category name (31/12/2018)

Misc
Trailer Chassis
Trailer (Load bay version available in Blue, green or yellow - Pictures show this comes with metal gear on the axle for some reason?)
Fuel tank (intended for trailer chassis but fits the trucks)

Upgrade parts (X is a letter depicting colour code)
Majority of these are from somesellers I found that listed WPL number so some might be incorrect ie WPL1626 as it looks to be the generic 30A ESC that floats around but seems some sellers are starting to use the codes rather than WPL Drive shaft for B16

WPL1601 - Metal Front axle
WPL1602 - Metal Bridge axle (middle axle on 6x6)
WPL1603 - Metal Rear Axle
WPL1604 - 2 Piece "Pull Rod" or "Traction link" seems to be a bit of strengthening on the C models for where the suspension secures onto
WPL1605 - 1 Piece "Pull Rod" or "Traction link" seems to be a bit of strengthening on the C models for where the suspension secures onto.
WPL1606 - 4 Piece Adjustable Pull rod For C models
WPL1607 - 4 Piece non adjustable Pull rod for C Models
WPL1608 - Steering Pull rods
WPL1609 - 4 Piece Shock Absorbers
WPL1610 - Metal Upgrade for Gears/Cogs, and steering ("Gear Bridge Axle set"
WPL1611 - Metal Middle drive shaft
WPL1612 - Copper Metal Cogs/gears (2 of each)
WPL1613 - Aluminium Metal Cogs/Gears (2 of each)
WPL1614 - Rear gear set (Cog/gears, bearings, axle shaft itself and the 2 wheel mounts)
WPL1615 - Metal steering arms, axle shaft, bearings, gears and wheel mounts - this is front upgrade basically
WPL1616 - Metal front axle incl adjustable steering linkage
WPL1617 - "Metal Firm" Unsure what exactly this part is
WPL1618 - Metal Bumper
WPL1619X - Metal Cross member for chassis strengthening
WPL1620 - Metal "earring" Appears to be a lifting lug to raise the chassis up a teeny bit
WPL1621 - Metal Rear Bumper
WPL1622X - Metal Servo mounting plate (possibly C models only)
WPL1623 - 4 Piece Shock Absorbers (possibly different than WPL1609?)
WPL1624 - 17G Servo
WPL1625 - UP 17G Servo - Confused by this one unless it is an upgrade TO the 17G servo or.........they had a typo
WPL1626 - 30A ESC - Seems to be the generic 30A ESC that is floating around (not the red one)
WPL1627X - 25T Servo Arm
WPL1628 - Centre drive shaft (Believe this is the one from Middle axle to rear axle on 6x6)
WPL1629 - Bearing 3x6x2.5
WPL1630 - Bearing 3x10x3
WPL1631 - Rear tail lights
WPL1632X - Metal Gearbox/transfer case (Includes Motor)

WPL1652X - Plastic Wheel rim and tyre different design C Models Only

From things i've found online we will be "soon" getting sound (built into the receiver board from what I can tell), 4ch transmitter/new receiver board, new axles and later in year new C model and E class, Seems also wheel weights are coming out now though have seen them for a few weeks now.

From what I saw on the youtube video for the 4ch transmitter and receiver, seems like it has button for Lights/Sound and for changing gear if using the two speed gearbox.

Really great thread - thanks Mishka!

I've also heard good things about the JJRC Q64 as the axles (still plastic) are far stronger than the WPL ones and are also properly sealed so they can be oiled.
