HL Truck to AEC Matador build

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

I designed the tow bar but I'm not sure how it will print, I suppose I'll find out in about an hour and a quarter..... :/

Hi Max, yes it's one of those trial and error things where sometimes you print upright and sometimes on the side, and as you say try, try again.... :wtf:

Well as a small break from Nashorn building, I finally got the rear tow bar printed for my matador

Hopefully I will get some time this week to progress the build some more

Alwyn, you seem the guy to ask, how close is the HL truck wheelbase to a 1/16 Morris Quad? The HL trucks are now £20 free postage from China on Fleabay...I might give one a go.

Hi Rob, you would have to reduce the wheelbase by 38 mm but that shouldn't be a big problem, the track width is about right so the conversion should be pretty easy. You would probably have to upgrade the motor to a tamiya high torque in order to pull the gun and limber.
