Re: HL Truck to AEC Matador build
I designed the tow bar but I'm not sure how it will print, I suppose I'll find out in about an hour and a quarter.....

If at first you don't succeed, print, print again.
When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!

Hi Max, yes it's one of those trial and error things where sometimes you print upright and sometimes on the side, and as you say try, try again....

Re: HL Truck to AEC Matador build
Now I have a working printer then things can progress
Printed off the front tow bar
and here it is on the truck
To say I'm delighted with the print quality would be an understatement

Re: HL Truck to AEC Matador build
Well as a small break from Nashorn building, I finally got the rear tow bar printed for my matador
Hopefully I will get some time this week to progress the build some more

Alwyn, you seem the guy to ask, how close is the HL truck wheelbase to a 1/16 Morris Quad? The HL trucks are now £20 free postage from China on Fleabay...I might give one a go.

Re: HL Truck to AEC Matador build
Hi Rob, you would have to reduce the wheelbase by 38 mm but that shouldn't be a big problem, the track width is about right so the conversion should be pretty easy. You would probably have to upgrade the motor to a tamiya high torque in order to pull the gun and limber.
