HL Truck Mods

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

Yes getting the support material out of the outer grooves is tricky, I used a narrow file with some use of a razor saw for the stubborn bits. The worst is the side closest to the print surface.

Hi Alwyn, looks like plan B worked, thanks!
and look what Santa dropped through my letterbox this morning, looks like I’m going to be busy.

The yellow motor/gearbox combos are for use in a 1/16 Willy’s I’ve printed, I was struggling finding anything small enough to fit.

Very lucky man Mr Wayne those little motors and gearboxes are right up my alley. Very similar setup in my Panzer 38-t build. Can wait to see those tires mounted on the rims

I also got the lego tires. but they're much wider than I thought they'd be. I think they're too wide for rear tires on a deuce and a half.

I think what would be ideal would be the tires that Lee used from Germany and then 3D print the rims to fit the HL 5mm hex.

Hi Dave, have a look at the 3d printing part of the forum
viewforum.php?f=207
There's loads of info on there but if in doubt ask the questions....
