HL Truck Mods

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

So i have ordered more trucks again!!!!!! Oh dear
I wish i had robbed a bank now as i started to keep track of my spending on models! Whhhoooooopppps! hahahahaha

Unfortunately some orders are taking longer than others!
My Goulash Cannon model kit hasn't arrived and is now on back order with the supplier i bought off. So i cancelling my order. I will purchase from elsewhere unless anyone has one i could borrow until i turn into CAD ;)

Just in case some of you haven't seen yet, there is another new truck for the line up!

Here is the new WPL Toyota FJ45

I am going to try and kerb my spending habit as we have over 100 RC models in the house and i would say 60 of these are these Trucks from HL, JJRC, WPL, MN, Helifar & Subotech hahaahahahahaha

I also been busy refining some new track units i designed for these trucks

There is another version coming, but i think they be expensive as they have proper bearings and new drive sprockets etc and i will do 2 options with rubber track and then another better version for henglong plastic tracks. I need some for my up and coming Tucker Sno Cat build

And for attention the Gun Truck is just about there!!!! Videos to come, i love this thing its totally bonkers and completley off subject haha

Hi Will,

I really like the look of your mad max style truck, it looks fantastic, just the vehicle you would want for rush hour traffic

Cheers, Lee.

So started on some other projects!!! Yes you guessed correctly haha

MAN Kat1 8x8.
Right these models are not true to scale as we know, but it is close to 1/17. So i will call it that!
I have put one into CAD however and i will print a proper 1/16 version in time. Took ages to CAD haha

Kept it super simple with leaf spring suspensions, but it will feature one of my dual 180 motor setup sand we will run this on 3s lipo. I will use 2 servos for steering but different length arms to get different steering lock.

I have also started work on my Zil131 Logging truck. I turning that into a converted 8x8 truck and it will tow a trailer also. This thing is either going to have 4 180 motors one per axle, or i may use it as a test bed for my dual 370 motor setup.
I haven't got the courage to put my dual 540 setup in anything this size, but i think it would rip everything apart anyway.

Now back to WW2 stuff, i finished my wheels designs for the wehrmacht tyres to run on our roughly looking Ford V3000 with fulda style wheels

Good afternoon, 'Trucks and All Things Trucks' Gurus,
I am ready to do a detail build on the JJRC Q60 and I need to slow it down to have it easier to control. What would be your recommendation? A Tamiya Torque Tune type motor or?
Thanks in advance!

How slow you want?
My dual 180s are great, although a little noisy
