HL Truck Mods

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

That's actually pretty good. I bet the school administration never saw that comin'. :haha:

Talk about a policy that backfired! But now I wonder, what's wrong with shorts? Why would a school not allow them? That sounds like a dumb rule and a very creative response. Maybe I'll call that radio guy tomorrow and set him straight.
When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!

A similar story appeared in the UK media recently about a construction site where the men were banned from wearing shorts so they followed the example set by the schoolboys & turned up for work wearing skirts too.

Ok so back home and wondering how many trucks to order. 5, 10 or 20........

Will buy loads and use them as projects. Then sell a few and give some away to friends.
Maybe even use them for hire and drive RC at my house on the RC playgrounds haha
There some land nearby which I am wondering about asking about to make a RC play area for local people. Incorporate crawling, off road, short course and also something for boats.

Decided my trucks need something that looks a bit better than just a dusty shelf to sit on.
Was bored and thought i can make a cool diorama base.

So got a bit of crap wood cut to depth of the shelf. Found bits of left over wood and scraps on floor of workshop and stones and crap!
Glued and screwed to the base.

Got some pebbles to make a dry stone wall( i will epoxy these down!)

Found some newspaper and a forgotten tub of pva, so did some paper mashay type work and build up a rough terrain using the 'crap' that was glued down previously.

Also stole some sand from the kids sandbox and made a pva sand mix to put on top.

Then stole some of the mud from my wifes flower beds and mixed with small stones and weeds and stuff and dropped on top

Found an old Scale tree that was gifted by a family member as it seems about right size.
Tonights job is to start paint and glue the wall together and then i will share some finished pictures with a WPL truck on it.
Maybe there be some men hiding behind the wall with a 30 cal haha

Super easy and something to showcase some of these trucks a bit better.
Going to do a desert scene for one of the trucks i made for a friend aswell which is in desert beige camo.
Well recommended i reckon to give a nice home for the trucks.

Ok just about finished. Just need to paint around the edges of the base so it looks a bit neater. But that is one done.

Need a different Diorama for this truck really, so building a desert scape for that one. But it a good size for a 4x4

The 6x6 dwarfes this base so i need to make another for it.

I pretty pleased with it and only a couple hours work(well a few more than that really haha!)

I am making 1 for 6x6, the Sandscape for the Desert camo & another street scene for the Rat Rod with some Graffiti on the wall.
Makes a nice place to display the WPL trucks anyway hence why i posted here.
Hope you guys like

Yes.
If you contact 'The Model Tree Shop' as can be found on Facebook Steven should be able to help.
He is a distant relation to me and helped with the tree. I will have a look what one it is in the catalogue.
