HL Truck Mods

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

Here's what they look like lit up. I'll probably just run the lights off the RX. The main thing I want to learn about the das mikro is the volume control feature and selecting different engine sounds, if there's more than one on there. If I do a truck with turn signals I might use the mikro for that but for this first truck I'm keepin' it simple.

And I need some thoughts on the mega light bar. I'd like to make it removable so I can just put it on for FPV driving at night. That's right, I'm gonna put an FPV camera in the passenger seat. Or, for my British buds, on the driver's side. @) @)

If I make the light bar removable I think I'd like to give the twin spot lights their own little lipo. Maybe a load of crates for use with the light bar and hide it all there? Then to remove the bar I just unplug at the RX and lift out the bar, the crate with battery & little board for the lights? Hmmm

Gary, since these bobbed deuce's are usually made to be mud trucks, you might try putting the mega lights on a roll bar behind the cab.

If they start selling spring perches we won't have to sacrifice another truck to make a ten wheeler.

I might have a crack at an openscad design for one then those with printers can print their own.

Got the other sound system from Banggood today. Let's just say I won't be buying another one.

You can buy flat top led's rather than file down rounded ones, I have a bag of them that I got from China for very little money. A cheap option for turn signals would be to fit flashing led's?
