What I thought was a good idea at the time proved to be a bit of a nightmare. I decided to upgrade the firmware on my Duet controller board. That went reasonably well but then I had to reconfigure a lot of the settings. Finally did that and then the Duet Touch screen didn't work because the firmware needed to upgraded as well. Got that done and then the heater element on the printer failed. Those of you with a 3D printer will know what this entails.
Finally got everything working ok so it is back onto the Comet.

this applies to printers more than anything - if it works, never touch it.

I've disabled mine more than once with mistimed upgrades.

Quality looks pretty good, but I also agree that "upgrades" are not always upgrades when it comes to 3D printing... :'(

I’m intrigued by your idea of the inner tube spring, I would be interested to see how that works out
It’s your tank it’s what you make it

The inner tube suspension is not my idea. Check out the build manual for more info.

I have an old Makerbot so I decided to dust it off and use it to print the tracks. It will take about 2 weeks to print out the parts for 224 tracks, a bit longer to assemble them!
I doff my hat to all you serial tank builders as building tracks is tedious.

Thought I would share with you all the printer I am using to print the Comet. It was designed and built by myself. It features linear slide rails on all axis and a BL Touch probe. It has a Duet WiFi controller which mean I can upload the files from my PC.
I use the Prusa slicer which is amazing considering it is free.
