Hi. Last week I painted my first 1:16 figure. Now I know I used te wrong paints (I did it with enamels instead of acrylics) But anyway it does not look too bad. I might sell it just to buy another one and pait it again.

Hi
The figure looks great well done.
A quick question is that a 1/16 motorbike in the first photo in the background and what is it? always on the lookout for that sort of thing for our clubs layout
regards Denzil

Well some necro posting here. I saw there is a new figure subforum, so maybe a mod could move this thread there. :)

A lovely job Rad that needs no apology,
I got my Motorcycle when I bought a I/18 fully articulated figure for a few £s,
after a little work and some paint it is now an Afrika Korp Dispatch riders bike, It is figures and other ephemera such as staff cars and Motorcycles and trucks that add life to a Tank,
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Thanks silversurfer for moving the post that fast, and thanks Jarndice for your kind words.

I rescued the motorbike from the oblivion just one week ago. I painted it with a brush a couple months ago and I disliked how it looked, so I had the great idea of sinking it in car brake fluid.

Like one month ago I put all my tank commanders in brake fluid for removing the paint, and it worked wonderfully. The plastic was perfect (Tamiya, heng long, and some kind of rubber figure) it was a success... So then I wanted to do the same with the motorcycle...

But it went bad, really bad. The brake fluid that seemed to be unharmfull with all kinds of plastic seems to attack the motorbike's plastic and zinc, so now I have a huge project of restoration in front of me.

Im not sure what to do. I might restore it, or I might dissasemble it and use all the parts for a garage diorama I'm planning to build.

 I'd say that's pretty exceptional, Rad, not just for a first attempt, but also if it had been painted by a seasoned regular. The only thing that would put me off owning him, is that he looks uncomfortably like my old Latin teacher from school. That Master had a bendy cane (for erring students), together with an inflexible attitude! 8O
