German Loader figure - Heike's Modellbaugasse

Post by silversurfer1947 »

Those of you who followed my Nashorn build will know the problems I had finding suitable figures for the open back. I sort of converted one to act as a loader, though he was a Hercules, as he could hold an 88mm shell with any effort or bending of back or knees. I only came across this particular figure after all was complete, but I bought one anyway. I think it is well sculpted, with great detail on the head. My only gripe is that there were noticeable mould marks on the back which were a bit of a pain to get rid of. You will also need patience if you decide to purchase. My order placed March 23 finally arrived on May 9. Overall I think the quality was worth the wait and is ideal for anyone building an open German artillery piece. The kit is black resin in 6 parts, one being a 75mm shell. I am not sure what artillery it was designed for as it is noticeably longer than the shells that accompanied my Pak 40. He is perfectly capable of holding an 88mm shell as used by the Nashorn.

I will post final photos when he is complete.
