SdKfz 2 Kettenkrad from Xion.

Post by FredtheFrench »

Good evening everybody.

This is my new vehicle from Xion, a kettenkrad very difficult to find and with all options except passenger and trailer.

I found it on catawiki with a luck, because I was on this site to find a Half track and the site purposed me this kettenkrad, but with a mistake in title because writing was: Kettenrad...

I think I was lucky for this auction...

I bought the book kettenkrad in detail and decals sheet from peddinghaus.

Hi Fred,

Great find with the kettenkrad :D they are very rare now and very expensive for what you get in the kit, they need a lot of work to run properly, Eddyk here on the site has a couple of fantastic examples of these which he has put a lot of work into. I was lucky enough to buy one before the price skyrocketed but then it was still expensive 8O I think it cost me around £350 which included the driver and passenger though, I made a trailer for it myself which now houses the battery as the space in the main body is very tight, look forward to seeing it come to life

Cheers, Lee.

This is the trailer that I made Fred, the stowage is removable so I can place the battery underneath and the cable's run through the tow pole into the main body

Thank you gentlemen.

Good idea the battery in the trailer. I don t know if mine will use the same system or will be in the original place.

Your trailer is beautiful and I would like to know, where do you find the wheels of your trailer ?

Have a good day.

Fred.

Hi Fred, I bought the wheels off of Ebay, they were just a random find and only cost me a couple of pounds for 4 of them :D here is a link to how I made the trailer
