TK24 problems again
TK24 problems again
TK24
Hi guys I recieved my clark board back from Tankzone but I've had to wait for my new servos to turn up. I recieved them last night so put the new board and servos in this morning and the board is not working as it should. the recoil worked twice and then died. The elevation does nothing the sound work's and the rest of the funtions work the recoil or elevation does not. Im so pissed off. Thats one new servo dead again. I tested the servos before instalation.
Any advice on what's causing this.
Thanks
Adrian

Re: TK24 problems again
Hi there. I just recently went through a similar problem with my Clark board and after the install I contacted my friend Stian (Maxmekker) and figured it out.
I was convinced it was the board and I was a bit confused since I have several Clark boards and never had a problem with them for years now.
If you saw my Nashorn project I installed a Clark tk60 and it controlled two servos for elevation and recoil. Here's the thing.....
The servos I had initially installed were 3.5g micros that were in perfect condition. They worked a " few times and quit"
Stian and I figured it was something amiss with the Clark or the servos. I then broke everything down and plugged new 9g heavier duty servos directly into the Clark board and everything worked as it should.....
Here's the trick that I discovered. It was the servos after all. But a bit of trail and error and cursing I had to take the nashorn completed and finished apart!!!! The problem was interference in the guns mechanism that was causing the servos to prematurely fail!!!
So the gears in the servos were falling apart under the stress of the binding of the 88mm gun and linkages.
I was able to restructure the servo recoil position and add new linkages and now everything works perfectly.
I just wanted you to know I had a very similar situation and it drove me crazy
Please let me know of you have pictures of the recoil setup and such. I hope I can help you out
Cheers

Thanks for the reply.
Tha servos I'm using are EMAX 12g/ 1.8kg Mini Metal Gear High-Speed I've used them before and had no problems. I will try other servos.

Before you try other servos triple check your linkages and free movementsgisalook wrote:Thanks for the reply.

Re: TK24 problems again
Just to make sure that the servo is 'dead' you can just plug it into one of the channels on the receiver ( removing one of the Clark wires) and see if it responds to the stick movement
