Hi all.
Clark TK24 was working fine, its made a crackling sound and now its very quiet and distorted, all of
the functions work as normal, I think something is kaput on the board, I dont know if Clark repair them
any ideas welcome

Sounds like the audio amp has gone. There's a work around using a mini 5w external amp but it's a little fiddly. Alternatively you can return to Clark for repair. Details of how to do this are on the Clark web site.

Thank you Tom, There is a small resistor on the rear of the board (200 ohm) , I have tried bridging it without
any joy, being an older TK board I have used it with a 8ohm speaker and not at full volume, is the fault
a common problem, never had this with my other Clark boards.

have you looked at the volume potentiometer? there was no unsoldered wire, or badly connected, or cut track?

the HP output impedance is 8 ohms, if on the other hand you use a 4 ohm speaker, there is a risk of destruction of the output stage? Also check that your HP works, on another device, for example can the coil be cut?
