October TOTM submission, now voting thread.

Post by Son of a gun-ner »

Hello TOTM fans.
Yes, it's that time already, I nearly got caught out with its arrival.
This month it's back to normal where any Radio Controlled AFV model is eligible to enter.
ANYONE can enter, apart from last month's winner.

There is now seven days on the clock for submissions.
As always, we look forward to whatever models submitters kindly share with us for our visual enjoyment.

Please refrain from posting chat in this thread till the voting has started, and use the dedicated chat thread instead.

October chat thread can be found here.

NUMBER 2

Hi,
This is an RC Canadian Leopard C2 MEXAS in 1/16 scale. The Leopard C2 is the older Leopard 1A4 chassis upgraded with a German surplus Leopard 1A5 turret, Canadian designed modifications and Modular Expandable Armor System (MEXAS).

The model has the following features;
- Tamiya 1/16 Leopard 1A4 chassis
- Perfect Scale Modellbau Leopard 1A5 resin turret
- AFV-Model Leopard 1 Diehl Typ D640A metal tracks with rubber pads
- Scratch built MEXAS add-on supplemental armor and Canadian custom modifications, such as the rear turret bins, machine gun mount, other small details.
- Mato Panther twin gearbox replacing the old Tamiya clutch gearbox.
- Clark TK-60 control board
- DKLM metal gun recoil and gun elevation unit, with flash and sound.
- AFV Model headlights with LEDs, rear tool and phone box, gun travel mount
- Tail lights with LEDs
- Sol Model FN MAG machine gun and jerrycans
- Shapeways jerrycan holders and US radio antennas
- Schumo Panther tow cables
- Painted in Vallejo Nato Green and applied with African dust pigments for Afghanistan deployment.

It should normally be pictured in a desert environment but i pictured it outside for better perspective.

Regards, Louis

NUMBER 3

So as mentioned in the chat I don’t really have a contender this month, so what I will show you instead is the tank that started the rc tank ball rolling for me. I bought it on eBay back when the Taigen 2.4 had just or recently been released, it had when bought the Taigen bb system and electrics and was billed as the pro version so metal bits and fancy paint.

Not much has been done to this beastie over the years but recently as many have seen I turned my hand to weathering and due to her ageing impact scared paint she was first on the block. I also decided she needed some field mods, so here in her glory with field mods fresh paint a battle system and ibu2u, I give you big Bertha

Tamiya KV1

Painted in Leningrad tri-tone camouflage and lightly weathered.

Well I'll pick up this challenge against mighty builds with my 3D printed Sd.Kfz 231 6-wheeled recce car, designed and assembled by myself, using reworked JJRC axles and the WPL sound V3 electronics.

This is my attempt this month, my depiction of the ultimate sherman. A Chillean m51 shown in its refurbished form from the mid 90s

Its based on a tamiya chassis and turret with lots of after market and scratch built parts.

Its running a clark tk60, has servo recoil, elevation and a tamiya battle system with hidden emitter.

Built and detailed by me, painted by Gary Farrow

My absolutely historically inaccurate Sherman IR Battler. My 2nd most run tank.

The model has the following features;
- Heng Long 105mm Sherman
- Magnetic hull mounting
- Resin enhanced floor (entire length from exhaust to front gearbox mounts)
- Original plastic tracks, Sprocket, Roadwheels

- Accessories from & installed by dgsselkirk
- Paint by dgsselkirk (You rock BTW!)
