Hello fellow tank enthusiasts. Yes, it is that time again.

Please feel free to submit a military modelling delight for our visual enjoyment.

As usual, you have 7 days to submit your models.
Also, as usual, anyone can enter apart from last month's winner.

We look forward to seeing what the following week brings.

Oh well, day five, no takers.

Guess I'll just play with myself then.

Mato M4A1 with a big gun. Bought by me, no idea who made it dirty.

Here is my ( now getting on in years ) rendition of Sgt. Lafayette Pool's 1944 M4A1 76mm(w) . His third Sherman ( and the last ) to be shot out from under him. It will be a good one to set next to Mick's Sherman. This is a MATO hybrid build with the usual fixes like turret lowering and the chunky guards and attachment points removed and replaced with Tamiya and Schumo parts sets. Paint and plastic is by me. Paint is Model Masters rattlecans with Tamiya primer. Graphics are lettering templates made up by Palepainter from the Forum.

And now for something completely different.

It's a scratch built Sd Kfz 223, based on a HL truck chassis. I sizeed up the plans to match the diameter of the tires, so it is a bit over sized for the scale. All the upper is framed ans skinned with sheet plastic. The mufflers are built up out of brass tube and copper wire. The turret is controlled off of the all wheel steering option on the radio. The front axle was moved forward to get the wheel base to match the drawings I was using. I also made the brackets for the ring aerial so that it can be raised and lowered.

Like has said Ike Eisenhower june 5, " Let's go"...

Good evening everybody.

I m waited june the 6th to put for the first time, one of my models. This model, like you can see with the pictures, is a Sherman who has landed on Sword beach with the 13th/18th Royal Hussars during morning of june 6 1944.

It is a tribute for English soldiers and especially for this tank batallion, because a lot of people think the DD was a big mistake with US Army, but in fact was badly use in contrary with British army.

The caracteristics of the model are:

All features of a tank, but with the functional canvas. No lights...

Chassis from a Mato Sherman, with plastic wheels.
Metal tracks.
Upper hull and turret was made by Nick Aguilar in USA (but it was necessary to modifie the rear deck for a British Sherman DD).
The support for canvas was made in steel.
The frame for Canvas is from brass.
Canvas cutting and waterproof.
A lot of brass for details are from brass.
New paint job, with green color of British army.
Figure has been made and painted by my friend Yan.
Rear wheels made by 3D by Yan.
2 metal rear axle from Opel Blitz was necessary for use the propellers, with the rears wheels like the true Sherman.
Supply of a lot of package for the crew by my friend Bertrand.
Tank number 44 and 13th/18th Hussars emblem, painted with hands.

I hope you like this model.

Regards.

Fred.

Photos taken late afternoon, today. Just finished the tank, for this weekend and the annual models contest of Saumur Tank Museum.
