Hi.
Jimster and Barry, i thank you both for your kind comments and am glad you are enjoying this build thread as much as i am building the model, it is a challenging build to be sure which is what i like.
Latest updates are i have started building up the front section, then i will have to add the hull top for the turret mount, the drivers cabin area will be very difficult to replicate due to all the odd shaped panels.
Cheers.

Hi
More work completed for the upper hull deck for the turret mount.
Temporary cross hull supports removed and index lip added to support the weight and position of the removable hull top and turret mount.
This is where the inside access will be.

Hi,
Further updates,
After trial fitting of the sloped front piece in the last photos i decided that it was not accurate enough so i scrapped it and remade the front center section which i was more happy with the overall angles etc, so i set about making the complete front structure including the drivers cabin and hatch, which was a task in itself due to the unusual shape and angular design, the front section slopes in 3 directions at once and took a lot of concentration to get it something like that i was fairly happy with, i got quite engrosed with building and forgot to take photos, but here is the almost finished result.
I always spray parts of my builds that are complicated with a dusting of grey primer as it highlights any errors like seam joints and depressions that need to be addressed before moving on.The result is not too bad i think only a few minor points to sort out.
Anyway enough of the boring splather....here's some pics, before the highlighted faults are fixed.

Your measuring must have been spot on as the primer does not show noticeable gaps.

Hi.
Thank you Mr Tiger for your interest, its finally looking like an XM800 T now, rather futureistic i think for the 1970's.

Mr Ronnie thx for the compliment, the joins were pretty good as i angled the joining faces on each piece so they would fit together smoothly, time consuming but worth the effort.
There were no gaps as such just blemishes where the styrene had not melted evenly on the mating surfaces and a few small depressions on the panels themselves and a couple of small high spots highlighted by the primer all good after sanding and a little plastic filler where needed.

Started to do the hull top and turret ring, using a heng long ring and have cut down a redundant tiger turret base to mount the ring gear to then will fit the turret base to that.
Thx for your interest.
