Re: TPz-1 A8 Fuchs 6x6 TransportPanzer - Bundeswehr - Build
Hi,
Here it is, the finished model. Below are evening shots.
I gave the model the Bundeswehr Afghanistan mission colors.
Nighttime firing of the 40mm automatic grenade launcher.
The German army vehicles are well maintained, kept really clear and in shape, I only gave it a weathering of desert sand pigments to show the vehicle on patrol in Afghanistan.
Tomorrow, I will take some daytime pictures and a video of the model in action.
Regards, Louis

Thank you Square 4 !
I took the model outside this morning for a photoshoot in my wife's garden, its a good setting. Its the first time I see the model in the light after the paint job in the basement yesterday. I see a few things to correct but its looking pretty good to me. I have to find where I put the head light lenses, I somehow always loose them during the build, too much stuff around.
Some close up on following post.

Some close ups. The weathering is meant to be in a sandy desert condition though.

Hi,
To finalize the build, here is a YouTube video link for the Fuchs in action with some cat hunting and a ride into thick terrain. The cat made good his escape before I could shoot the automatic grenade launcher. The twin engines and steering are performing well.

Good Morning!
The Build looks like a 1\1 scale vehicle shrunken to 1/16 scale. You cannot really ask for more. ;o)

Re: TPz-1 A8 Fuchs 6x6 TransportPanzer - Bundeswehr - Build
Thank you jimbo_wa and PainlessWolf, your encouragements at key points during my builds always makes me want to do a better job. A 6x6 vehicle with equally spread out axles, twin motors and twin steering was a totally new experience. The required gears and steering method is very different than a truck with front and back wheels. I have learned a lot from this build that will help with future similar ones. I was able to build this vehicle probably for a total cost under $600 using low cost gears and out of the box thinking. It kept me challenged and busy during free time for a couple of months. I am currently accumulating mechanical parts for the Ludwig 8x8 GTK Boxer waiting on the shelf, and also waiting to see the configuration the UK will give to its armed Boxer vehicles. The Boxer will be even more complicated than the Fuchs. Totally different experience and it requires a lot of planning and various mechanical parts I have never bought or managed before. It will be fun to experiment with these.PainlessWolf wrote:Good Morning!

One last short video of the TPz-1 taken during maintenance. I am in discussion with Chris who will provide me with prototypes of Fuchs 3D printed wheels with extensions for WPL axles and proper rim patterns. We'll see.
