Re: Centurion Mk III Scratch build
Hi Wayne, yes the plasticard on the top of the turret was to provide more strength and to enable better shaping. A word of caution don't do the shaping until you do a trial fit of the turret roof. The spring mounting is just discarded bits of printed styrene, I found a piece of the chieftain aircon print scrap that did what I needed but it shouldn't be hard to fabricate a mount from styrene sheet.

Hi Wayne, here it is - very simple really
module recoiladj () {
$fn=100;
difference () {
translate ( [-9,-16,0] ) cube ([18,32,5]);
translate ( [-9.1,-11.5,-0.5] ) cube ([15,23,6]);
}
}
recoiladj ();

Re: Centurion Mk III Scratch build
Hi Wayne, that was the bit that came out of my scrap bin, it's part of the aircon from the chieftain, the curved bit that goes in the lhs of the turret. You may be able to isolate that bit of the scad and just print that bit - actually if I remember you did split that part for ease of printing.

Mounted the turret rotation motor
and printed the sprocket covers
Put all the electronics in and tested it, I'll take it along to the old scout hut get together next Sunday in Hyde for a run around.

Re: Centurion Mk III Scratch build
I have removed the published scads from my build threads. Anyone who wishes to build a centurion can pm me with their e-mail address and I will gladly send them the appropriate files provided it is for their personal use and not to produce them for resale.
