Ultimate Challenger 2?

Post by kwiky »

Hi all, been a while since I posted, I fell out of the hobby after a divorce a few years back, and lost my entire collection (3 taigen full metal tigers, a Torro full metal KT and a Tamiya JP) when she threw them all into a skip. They do say beware a woman scorned.. :wtf:

Anyway I’m back! The plan is, instead of spending money on a collection of tanks like I did before, I wanna put it all into one, the Challenger 2, but I want the ultimate challenger 2, and that’s where I’m gonna need help. The goal is to have a heavy, powerful tank that moves and behaves as close to the real thing as possible. I want stabilised turret and gun, barrel recoil, good sounds. My other tanks were all pretty standard so this will be my first proper from the ground up build.

So far I have bought a DKLM full metal Chassis which arrived yesterday. I don’t have any electronics for it yet but from what I’ve read my only choice seems to be the Clark TK60G2 so I get the gun stabilisation, apart from that I’m a complete build newbie so have very little clue how to get to where I want to be with this build. My talents have always been more on the artistic side of the hobby than the technical side.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome back, Kwiky! Hope the screen name wasn't the reason for the ex dumping your prized possessions in the skip, :O :lolno:
Yes, I'd agree that the fair sex is, as Kipling put it, capable of being 'deadlier than the male'. 'Revenge Porn' seems to be the retribution of choice these days, though, but if she'd posted your pictures of tank-porn in the 'Net, we'd have been eternally grateful, instead of shocked. :haha:
Anyway, I can well understand the idea of having one absolutely brilliant model, with all the available bells and whistles, rather than a collection of average off-the-shelf ones. Apart from the saving in space, maintenance,
and worries looks from friends and family; it's also a lot less for a future partner to dump in the skip.  :haha:
