After spending the day yesterday watching all 10 episodes of "Band Of Brothers" straight through I figured it was time to post some pics today.

Up first are pics of the final piece of the Loader's Station Armor. In the last pic with it pivoted down in the lowered position you can see the need for the expanded metal mesh, keeps feet out!

Next up are the beginnings of the Armor Shields that encompass the Commanders Gun Station. The ringed platform was the first step The 9 fitted "saddles" were a lot of fun as each one is fitted to the curve of the cupola ring. Lots of trimming, filing and sanding to get them and the ringed platform fitted,

Here are pics of the mounting hardware for the cupola armor base ring. There are three 00-90 bolts threaded into nuts embedded into the bottom of the cupola ring. There are also two "special" mounting bolts that pass from inside between the periscope blocks into the tab on the mounting base. I used a length of 00-90 threaded rod soldered into a piece of 1/6" square tubing and then secured with a 00-90 nut.

These are the part illustrations I have been using as reference.

The following are pics of the TUSK Armor mounted to the Commander's Gun Station. You can see in the pics with the hatch open how it is an integral part of the armor closing in the aft position.

Thank you Mick!

It has been an experience, calling on all the tricks and techniques I have learned in my 50+ years of modelings, Oh and some newly learned ones as well.

In my "spare time" I am reading up on the latest finishing products and techniques in anticipation of the painting and weathering phase.

Thank you Nexusys. :)

The Commander's TUSK Armor is the last major construction task in the project. I still have lots and lots and lots of detail work left to accomplish but the larger tasks will be complete.
