Fitted upgraded metal smoke dischargers.

You can buy seperately (which I did) plastic cover caps for them. I then fixed small chain to the caps and soldered the other end of the chain to the dischargers.

Hey man....I just ride 'em, I dunno what makes 'em work.

I saw these rotating beacon lights from a company called Pistonking, I was so impressed by the reality of the operation that I wanted one to replace the beacon light on my Tamia Leopard 2A6, not sure if the Leopard 1,s had them, but as I said, I liked it so much decided to add one anyway.

Made a couple of antenna's from piano wire to replace the stubby little ones in the kit.

Painted and fitted the upgraded metal MG and carrier.

Sorry, not much happening at the moment. Over the last couple of evenings I've been having a go at the PE side boxes.
Formed the basic box and soldered the joints, then soldered a 0.6mm rivet through the 4 holes in the base.
Image
then I soldered a 0.8mm brass nut over the rivet on the underside so that when fixed to the tank hull the box will spaced off like the real thing.

Hinges and clasps.

Will paint tomorrow and fit to hull.
I am tempted to make the barrel cleaning rods, I have the PE holder and brass rod that I can thread with small taps and dies.

It always puzzled me as to why Tamiya had the X part raised instead of how yours are.

Thanks Doc,
Andy, thats why I wanted the PE boxes, perhaps its easier to mould with the X raised. Or they put the mould in back to front :D
