Leopard 2A6 conversion to Canadian 2A6M w/slat armor

Post by BarryC »

Hi guys,

For my next build  I "plan" to convert the Tam. 2A6 to a 2A6M CAN w/slat armor and Barracuda MCS cammo matting.

Like Ad Lav I like the desert scheme on the Leopard.c  If I can not find a good way to render the MCS Mats then I will use the NATO scheme with the Slat Armor as originally deployed.

Anyone have any thoughts on the matting?

TIA,
Barry

Nice find Dean!

Just found this, it looks more like what I need. It is what Tankbear used on his Challenger 2 build. viewtopic.php?f=33&t=21918&p=199782#p199782

Now to figure out how to attach it to some type of thin material that will resemble the matting.

I think the umbrella is going to look very cool!  Leave it to you Ca-nooks to put an umbrella on 120mm armed 70 ton armored vehicle, only others that would consider it would be the Brits!

Nice idea Barry.

I never took mine any further as the tamiya leopard costs alot anyway, the bar armour can be purchased for around £100.

Thanks Adam,

Yes the Tamiya Leopard is quite pricey. Do you know where the bar armor be purchased?

Thanks again to Ad Lav!

Slat Armor ordered from Tank Modellbau. Hopefully it will save me a ton of work though I may replace the sections at the "corners" with brass for strength and protection.
Camouflage netting ordered from Forgerbear to make up the Barracuda MCS matting.
