Veterans Day - Remembarnce Day

Post by BarryC »

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother;

I wish each of you Peace and Serenity this day.

I echo the other remarks, It is strange that it is a hundred years since the 1st war ended because my uncle Taff a wonderful man who served in the trenches of Flanders, unlike my Grandfather Christopher my uncle came home to his life's partner.
He made it to 1972,
He would talk to me when I was on leave with some reluctance about the horrors and he would warn me about the loose women of Loos telling me not to fall for the charms of foreign gels,
It was difficult to take him too seriously because he would be grinning as he said it,
A little man but he was a giant to me.
RIP all those heroes.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Strike up the Band and let the Music play!
For all the Fallen and Those as well that the years took afterwards.
Thank you for Service freely given even unto the Uttermost Ends that Mankind can give.
We may not remember you all but History will never forget.
Thank you!!!
...Here for the Dawn...
