IBU2U basic Noob with a few Q's

Post by minimivic »

Got an IBU2u basic with a Flysky FSi6, speaker upgrade and Tarr smoker for my son s Christmas present to go into the Taigen Tiger 1 we have.

All connected and calibrated fine but I get a few issues:
Sometimes forward and reverse are the wrong way around, I can change this in the calibration and on the Flysky but I cant work out why it happens.Usually after a SD card changes or firmware upgrade also did it.

Other issue is steering. I can go forward, backwards and left/Right without a problem but if I go forwards and left (diagonally) it goes right instead. same for the other diagonals

Souind wise, to change sound do I just copy the tiger files into the tank folder.

Any help would be great.

Calibration data is stored on the SD card so changing it will require a fresh calibration. Possibly so with a firmware update

Regarding your turning issued sounds like you have the motor plugs backwards on the ibu2u

Tom,
Motors are right way and can only go in one way so that’s all ok.
The calibration goes fine, and I can reverse the stick direction in the calibration to solve the movment forward back instead of on the transmitter. Still reacts the same. It did correct the direction after a firmware update but now back to reversed on forwards/back.
One thing to note is the reverse speed applies to the forward direction of the tank, it’s like I need to reverse a setting but can’t see anything.

I fixed the sounds now.

Not the wrong way round in the plugs but the left gearbox plug in right gearbox and vice versa. Swap them round and it should be ok

Tom,

That solved the problem, but 100% the left gearbox is now plugged into the right output on the IBU.
Also now the reverse is at 50% forward speed and the direction is OK.
I cant work this out, very confused, but working better now.
The controls seems to be iratic, ie you have to be very gentle on the stick to get movement in any direction ( cant just goto full forwards) is this right?

Many thanks.

Hey, I've found this does happen some times (so much so I usually just plug them in to which ever side and if things need reversing swap them round). Ibu2u has a slightly delay to movement which can't be switched off

Have now fitted the IBU2U basic into my sons new Torro King tiger.
It has the FR7 speaker and Tarr IBU edition (don't seem to get much smoke yet)
Quite scary pulling apart a new tank to fit upgraded electronics but it all went to plan and most things work great.
Fine tuning to do but Im well impressed with the ease of installation just had to work a few things out like swapping the motors over (still cant get my head around that) and add the earth to the recoil (blue wire).
