What does a track tensioner do?

:shifty: Im not being funny but surely it allows you to add tension to tracks.

Tracks that are too tight can be more prone to breaking and loose tracks can come off. I don't know what the link points to.
Different models I imagine have different issues and metal or plastic tracks will also have an impact.

I was just going to say it tensions the track but sombody beat me to it. Does the basic heng long have an adjuster?
