Vendor recommendation for Taigan kits

Post by bowlingball »

I'm new to this hobby, since my son bought me a HL M43A for Xmas. Having built Tamyia off road crawlers in recent years , I'm looking to build a new tank from a kit. Tamiyas are too expensive, and i quite like the BB shooting feature in any case. Looking on the web and round this forum Taigan/Torro kits look to be favourite. Trouble is finding a vendor. The approved vendors on the forum dont appear to sell much in the way of kits, and Tankzone and Nitrotech (sp?) have attracted a lot of adverse comments.
I'm hoping to get a Taigan Tiger or Leopard in kit form complete with RC and control electronics.
Can anyone recommend a vendor, preferably in the UK?

The tankzone version comes with rc board and controller but still works out more expensive than buying them separate

In the US I’d go direct to IMEX in Florida
In the UK I’d go to Forgebear tanks

My IS-2 arrived today from Legend Hobby here in TX quite a bit cheaper than Taigen/IMEX could sell it. I'm guessing because they still have some left over using last years non crazy pricing.

I got mine from Forgebear, arrived down here in Australia in perfect condition, and I went and wrecked it on purpose !!
Imex have only recently set themselves up for international purchasers, which is surprising considering this global economy we live in.

Just get one.............you wont regret it
