Re: Porsche Turret King Tiger Best Starting Point?
Hey guys,
I do appreciate all the input. I've picked up a Porsche Turret Tamiya kit without motor/gearbox and electronics. So it will be a Tamiya with after market drive and electronics.
Thanks again,
Barry

Re: Porsche Turret King Tiger Best Starting Point?
I have the Tamiya Henschel KT, and the Torro 'metal ed' (top of the range) Torro/Taigen KT, which has a decent alloy/abs hull. On balance, though, I think the hull and running gear on the Tamiya are superior to those on the Torro. Thus, it looks like you've got the right materials to get the project rolling, Barry!

Re: Porsche Turret King Tiger Best Starting Point?
Hi Barry, In the Tamiya build forum I posted King tiger Pre production which is my Porsche turret. Is made from a 56018 full option kit and the static kit 36201 that you have. I purchased the two kits years ago so paid very little compared to what you have to now. Have a look at my build and if you have any questions with the Tamiya part of you build just ask. There are some differences between some of the static parts and later Tamiya king tiger parts. Wheel assembly's being the biggest one. Regards John.posting.php?mode=reply&f=195&t=32692#

Re: Porsche Turret King Tiger Best Starting Point?
Hi Guys,
First, Thanks for all the tech info and suggestions.
My Tamiya kit is the 56007, less Motors & GBs and DMU.
I've ordered the ETO Armor; Transmission and Henn Tec; Track adjuster.
I will be using the ElMod Fusion Pro for the Electronics and Servos for Turret rotation and Main Gun control.
Should I be looking for metal tracks if so who would be making them?
Thanks,
Barry

Yum! Those are tasty-looking ingredients on your menu, Barry. This should be a classic
