Oddballs Tank

Post by oddballseattle »

This is my first post and first build. I am currently building a 1/6th scale Sherman tank ( I figure on your first build you go big or go home). I am converting a Dragon model kit to RC. I am also modeling it after Oddballs tank in Kelly's Heroes. Below is a pic of my suspension and the lower hull. I am trying to find some good images of how the lower hull would be weathered. I am happy with my suspension weathering, but any constructive criticism is welcomed. Does anyone have anything to share? Appreciate any assistance.

Excellent, the weathering looks fantastic!!

I see you are using the Spyker Workshop hull reinforcement set.

Yes, Ryan and Spyker and John at East Coast Armory have been great to work with.

Sorry for late reply. I started with red Tamiya primer then airbrushed grey/green Vallejo air and then a thinned top coat from mission model, darker grey/green. This allowed the lighter grey/ green to appear thru. After that just dried brushed dark rust and used light rush wash on top of that.
