Dolls house hinge size.

Post by Son of a gun-ner »

I've just spotted some dolls house hinges at a reasonable price, but to me they seem a little big for our scale of tanks, 8mm long by 10mm wide when fully open.
What size do you guys use?

I fit working front fenders on my all Panzer 4s thanks to Woz c/o Shapeways and the 8 x 10 mm brass hinges are a perfect fit, indeed when compared with the moulded on hinges on the Fenders they are almost exactly the same size,
They usually come with little brass screws, I would advise against using them they look wrong and do not hold in place.
What is important is the size of bolt, M3 is too big, M2 looks just right.
Whereas the applique armour for the PZ4 also from Woz the M3 is the bolt of choice.

You can get brass hinges 4mm square from here. Not cheap though https://www.jennifersofwalsall.co.uk/4-mm-hinges.html

I got some off eBay for the dragon wagon doors. They were tiny.
