Track Painting

Hi Guys

Im curious as to know if you guys paint your tank tracks? If so what kind of paint works best? any tips would be great

I assume that with running the paint would eventually wear off anyways

Nylon or Metal?
Metal tracks are best treated with Gun Blue
Painting Metal Tracks is far too close to painting the Forth Railway Bridge

Gotta second the use of Gun Blue for metal tracks.

Quick dirty method....

Use a base that is super thinned colour (Aka steel, gun metal, etc...) with 60% thinner.
Drybrush shades of silver (exposed metal surface from track travel).
Add in light rust on locations that would have seen zero surface contact/rotation (unless your tank was supposedly sitting for years corroding).
Add in oil/lubricant splotches you want.

Seal it if you wish.
