Place to cast tracks in europe

Post by cupra313 »

Hey guys, just finished my 1/10 is-1 build and i have already layed out the plans for the next one. I want to build an E100 in 1/8 in metal this time. I have no problem making steel chassis plates and mig welding them. Also i do my own aluminum casting at home for all the other parts, like road wheels and suspension components. The problem like always,is the tracks. So,does anyone know somebody that can cast me those tracks? Below are some shots of the project, working it out digitally first:

Amazing build! This guy has a huge amount of skills, money, patience and time. My build will come nowhere near that level for sure!

If this guy can make these, I’m sure he can make what you want, but watching the video of what was involved, you can’t expect them to be cheapImage

Have you thought of 3D printed tracks??

If you can get someone to print the tracks you could make a mold from them ,add 6% to allow shrinkage of casting. Then you could cast them one at a time.Would be a long process but would be able to make yourself spares.

Hi!
Here in Riga we have one guy who can make the tracks from bronze. It costs aprox 25 eur for one mould and then only +/- material price. But its needed to have 3d printed link for moulding

You could try Adam at Mountfleet models, he casts loads of metal stuff for model boats so the progression to tracks shouldn’t be a problem. The only issue I can see it the pin holes, at least at 1/10 the pins would be 3mm+
