Re: First tank
Shaun, leave this one alone.
Hi Mr maffax, my apologies, I mistakenly misplaced your introduction post as you made two posts with the same title, and I thought you had double posted as is common around these parts.
Luckily your introduction was short. And if you wouldn't mind, could you please write it again
My biggest apologies
Mick.

Re: First tank
Hi Dean I read your introduction just before you were "NUKED" so welcome to the Forum
As to the recommendation for your first Tank ,
It does depend on a number of things,
Are you wealthy enough to pay £600 plus for a box of top quality parts that you will have to put together (Its actually pretty easy) If so go look at the Tamiya range of 1/16 Armour,
If you are unsure as to whether you will stay loyal to R/C Tanking I would recommend a 1/16 Version 6.0 Heng Long Tiger 1 £120--£200, Don't believe the horror story's they make a very nice Tank now and unlike Tamiyas quality product this Tank is RTR (Ready to Run).
And then there is Taigen/Torro in my opinion not bad but they are overpriced for what you get which is pretty much a Heng Long but at £250--£400.
Dealers---In The UK NOT TANKZONE and NOT NITROTEK.Keep well clear.

That should help get you started.
But do please keep asking the questions,

All depends on your budget, and what scale you prefer.maffax wrote:Looking for a great first all metal tank .

A lot of tanks, although they can be advertised as all metal, they still have some amounts of plastic, and in 1/16th scale, are around the three to five hundred mark, all metal would be considerably more.

Re: First tank
And as gunner says. They will all say all metal but with a few exceptions they are not. Example Torro wooden box tanks say all metal on many ads but the upper hull is plastic. With metal parts. The rest is mostly metal and again the pricing. I have mine listed here at 250 that is for a home built wooden box edition equivalent Torro T34-85. Buy that new with the wooden box and IR battle system and you are looking Upto £600.
It’s your tank it’s what you make it
