Well the video turned out worse than I expected. The phone did something to the sound. TG black steel is way worse in real life.

Honestly, the sound isn't that bad. Unless of course the audio was changed up. I didn't know the taigen smoker was proportional. Does it need a Taigen board to work?

It didn’t sound as loud in real life.
The smoker is upgraded with a proportional board. Easy fix.

Looking at the black cogs my guess is quite a bit. Like TG 4:1 easily.

Like Gary, I use the 4:1's on my WWII tanks too. Plus, I think they work better for metal tanks.

I just use some molly grease. It's a bit thin, so I made some shields out of styrene to keep the splatter down.

As for the noise, both my Pershing and my Sherman have the same Taigen V2 gearboxes. I have noticed that the Metal hull Sherman produces much less gear noise that the Pershing. I suspect it has to do with being mounted to solid metal, and reducing vibrations. I have also seen a guy use some type of sound-dampening tape used in car stereos to reduce the gear noise.

Hey, I got an idea...

Tanks: HL M26 Pershing, HL M1A2 Abrams, Taigen M4 76, HL M45 Pershing, 1/18 PZ IV, VS Abrams, [coming soon]
