My m4a3 heng long shermans left gearbox failed i replaced it but that one broke after about 10 seconds of movement what could be causing the undue stress on the left side

Have you checked that the track and idler are free running? Just out of interest, what surface were you running on?

That might be a part of the problem, HL gearboxes are generally not made to run on grass.

also depends on what gears you have in your tank

are they like a silver look to them if so they will be zinc comes from heng long as a pro version the zinc is soft and will not stand up the turning on grass

They are known by us as "Pot Metal" Gearboxes and are less reliable than Heng Longs Nylon Gearboxes,
Avoid them and keep the Nylon or go for the Black Steel option.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
