M1919 30cal Machine Gun

Post by BarryC »

Hi Guys,

Who makes the best detailed and accurate Browning M1919 30cal? Is there a injection molded one available? I know there is a 3D printed one on Shapeway. I need 2 for my M551 Sheridan build.

TIA,
Barry

What kind of Sheridan are you building Barry that needs two M1919 Browning ? I'm curious about where you see these fit on the tank.

I would recommend Shapeways body with Aber 16L-01 metal barrel.

Here she is.

Shapeway with Aber is a good choice.

Thanks Louis!

Thanks Forgebear,

I'm not sure yet what modifications will be need so I would prefer a plastic molding to work with.

Ho ho, what we have here is a rare twin M2 .50 cal mount with a modified Acav shield, and what could be a twin mount of M73 7.62mm machine guns with flash suppressor, close cousin of the M1919. It would make sense that they are the same model as the coax. I had the same issue with the V-100 Commando build, having to use a M1919 Browning as the closest thing available.

Hi Louis,

I'm not sure about the M73 you've posted as the pic the tarp over the 30s "appears" to cover the longer breach of the M1919. I have been unable to find a single pic of the twins uncovered. FC Trend Models does a twin 50 and 30 set for the M551. I have it and it has twin M1919s but not photography evidence that is is actually correct.

As my usual custom I've picked up several publications but as of yet no pics. :'(
