Re: Have a turret conundrum !
No, it's not a plug, it's just a revolving connection that you can't/shouldn't take apart.
It is just held on the turret ring to retain it in a working position. It has corresponding coloured wires either side, one set to connect to things in the turret, and the other side to connect on the hull or MFU.
If you want to take the turret ring off out the way or completely remove the turret, it is best to disconnect the wires on the hull/MFU side from the hull or MFU by pulling out the little white plugs. Obviously after labelling them for correct reconnecting.

Labeling the wires is not a bad idea, but I recommend that you take a photo. Get a shot of both ends of the wires. By the way, that round piece you're looking at is called a slip ring.

Get your coloured paint pens out and put a dob of paint on each plug/socket before removing. I've done this for years and it never fails.

Know what the slip ring is was wondering about the barrel shaped piece with the wires going through it lol.Max-U52 wrote:Labeling the wires is not a bad idea, but I recommend that you take a photo. Didn’t have colored pens but did take pictures. Was give the identity and how to remove it.

The barrel shaped thing that's mounted in the gear and passes the wires from the lower hull up into the turret is the slip ring.

The big round thing with the teeth on it is the Turret Ring.
The little black barrel type thing with the wires is the Slip Ring.
The Slip Ring is held in the slot in the Turret Ring, and just pushes out sideways. See slot close up in second picture.
Sorry, not very clear, I took the pictures from the web.
