Hex drivers
Buying a set of quality hex drivers and I’m curious whether the hex screws on most our RC tanks are metric or SAE. I’m assuming the former.
But it’s a dry heat!

Re: Hex drivers
For the smaller heads I find that a set of BA sockets and a set of BA Spanners will often work when the Metric will not.
I think I am about to upset someone

Gosh, that's a blast from the past. I have BA spanners and sockets somewhere. Only come across BA these days in old electrical stuff like conduits.jarndice wrote:For the smaller heads I find that a set of BA sockets and a set of BA Spanners will often work when the Metric will not.
And I think you'll find that they're talking about Allen Keys Shaun, not box spanners/nut drivers.

Re: Hex drivers
I avoid using glue whenever possible,
If I use nuts and bolts I can undo stuff without damaging the tank,
I have found that a small BA open ended spanner will get into places that Metric spanners will not and no it does not round off the heads,
Almost every small size Metric nut will work with a BA spanner or a BA Socket.
I got my BA Sockets from a Porsche Main Dealer of all places.
Oh and I do have just about every size Hex driver going.

Re: Hex drivers
From my experience the Allen bolts are metric so a set of metric hex drivers is what you need. BangGood do a cheap handy driver with 4 interchangeable sized metric tips. Needs less storage, keeps things tidy and much cheaper!

Re: Hex drivers
Thank you Mr Ragnar, I too have a tin full of all sizes of Allen Keys, but the thanks are for reminding me I purchased a set of hex drivers some time back and forgot I had lol.
