Battery life

Post by Ragnar »

Hey gents need Halp! Lol can anybody say what the life expectancie of the Li-ion 7.4 battery supplied with the Heng long tanks is.
Right now been running my P3 with my great grand granddaughter and noticed it’s shutting down and needing restarting every couple of mins. Usually last at least 30 to 40 mins but haven’t run it in close to a year. OR could it be the 6 AAs are running down in the controller.?
But it’s a dry heat!

Sounds to me like your 7.4 battery isn't charging, or not holding a charge.

If your controller AA batteries were dying, I don't think the tank shuts down

Hi,
I agree, Are you using the Heng Long charger or an after market one ?
If it is a Heng Long charger then I suggest you invest in a decent Charger from the likes of Hobbyking ,
It will charge quicker and more safely and have the ability to charge Ni-MH/Ni-Cad/Li-Po and Li-on Batteries,
As to the AAs in your transmitter you can with very little work substitute those for a rechargeable Li-Po pack.
Oh and when you press "Submit" give it a minute, it will download even if it seems to take forever. :lolno:
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

A balance charger is needed to keep the battery in good condition for years. Stock chargers don't balance cells and one of them may get damaged. Mine is ok after more than 2 years. Runs the tank for 30 min.

2x early Tiger 1's made from parts of HL, Taigen, Mato and whatever I saw suitable.

I don't know how you're doing it. But this last duplicate thread was posted an hour and a half later.

+ 1 for the crappy charger issue !!!

I threw away two (!!!) batteries because they wouldn't charge properly - I assumed they were "snide" copies instead of pukka decent ones! The third one I bought wouldn't charge properly either so I looked at geting a half-decent charger. Cost less than half the price of the batteries and worked a treat!
