I have spent the entire day trying to make one. I have 3 failed and 2 that are "sort" of OK and one that is not too bad but still does not meet "spec"! I have not given up.....yet.

Barry if you are still looking for that aerial spring I wonder if you have looked at the collection of WW2 American Antenna and the relevant parts on this site?

Certainly one of the springs in the small detail pictures looks like an option

Thanks for the heads up but none of them have the "coke" bottle shape.
I decided to wind my own using a shaped mandrel and piano wire.
This is the result, right now I'm going with them.
