Tamiya Pershing turret turn problems
Evening all
I am having problems with the turret on my Tamiya Pershing. I have done my best to make sure that there is clearance under the turret with wires all tucked away but can’t get the turret to turn smoothly it just keeps getting jammed. Any body got any good tips to solve my problem
Thanks

Re: Tamiya Pershing turret turn problems
Got the t-shirt on this one! On my super p I glued the slipper clutch and made sure the wires were snagging inside. Ideally I'd run a smaller lipo to give more space for the wires to move
Re: Tamiya Pershing turret turn problems
Cheers Tom, gluing the slipper clutch has got to be worth a go
Re: Tamiya Pershing turret turn problems
If the problem is not fixed by glueing the clutch you could try this, made a cover for the rotation unit out of thin plastic sheet.

Hi Wayne
The cover looks like it may well be the solution. I have had to pull the wires out of the rotation unit gears a few times. Where did you get it ?
Thanks

I can 3D print them, the model is on Thingiverse if you have a printer.
If you're in the U.K. I'd do you one for £10 delivered, more would be cheaper of course.
Cheers

Re: Tamiya Pershing turret turn problems
That's a great solution midlife306!
I ended up bundling the wires into 2 groups, one for the turret and the other for the upper.
A bit of aluminium tape to keep the MG and rotation motor wires out of the gears with the clutch bonded has solved the problem for me.
Keeping the motor wires low also helps.
